Originally from Illinois, Sara Nester completed her undergraduate nursing degree at the University of Iowa in 2011. She went on to earn a Master’s in Child & Adolescent Psychology from the University of Washington, and most recently, a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Emory University in Atlanta in 2024.
Sara’s career has spanned both inpatient medical settings and community-based roles. As a school nurse, she managed the daily healthcare needs of over 1,200 students while also serving as the faculty advisor for her high school’s LGBTQ student organization. While completing her doctorate at Emory, Sara worked in pediatric urgent care—an experience that strengthened her dedication to pediatric medicine and to supporting families through the challenges and joys of raising healthy, confident children.
Sara lives in Ormewood Park with her partner and is proud to be a part of the Intown Pediatrics team. She feels honored to invest in the health and future of Atlanta’s families through her work as a clinician.
