To help you get started, please review the steps below before your baby arrives.
1. Attend Our Virtual Open House — Required Before Scheduling
Before we can schedule your newborn’s first appointment, a parent or guardian must attend our Virtual Open House.
Our Virtual Open House provides important information about:
- Our practice and locations
- What to expect when establishing care
- Practice policies and procedures
- Our approach to pediatric care
- Important information for new IPAM families
📅 When: Third Thursday of each month
🕐 Time: 12:15–1:00 PM
💻 Where: Zoom
Need the Zoom invitation? Text our office at 404-446-4726 with your name and email address, and we will send you the meeting information two days before to the meeting.
Important: Please plan to attend the Virtual Open House before your baby is born whenever possible. You must attend a session before scheduling the newborn appointment.
2. After Your Baby Is Discharged, Contact Us to Schedule
Once your newborn has been discharged from the hospital, please contact our office to schedule the first appointment.
We ask that you wait until your baby has been discharged before scheduling because circumstances surrounding the hospital stay and discharge can change.
If the hospital requires you to provide an appointment date before discharge, please let them know that your newborn will be establishing care with a provider at Intown Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.
3. Adding Your Newborn to Insurance
You have a 30-day grace period from your baby’s date of birth to add your newborn to your health insurance or other applicable coverage.
If your newborn has not been added to an insurance plan after 30 days, the initial visit and subsequent visits will be considered self-pay until insurance coverage has been activated.

After baby is born:
- Wait until your newborn is discharged from the hospital
- Contact our office to schedule the first appointment
- Add your newborn to your insurance within 30 days
